Salute Pursuit honors your service through the outdoors.
We provide no-cost, fully outfitted hunting trips for veterans, active duty, and first responders because cost and access should not stand between you and the hunt.
We make hunts possible for veterans, active duty & first responders.
As founders, we have stood beside those who serve our country and communities.
We know how military or public service reshapes your life and how the job follows you home. For us, the woods bring quiet focus and a clear task.
This time outside steadies us and puts discipline to work, which is why we built Salute Pursuit. We want the same opportunity for anyone who served or is currently serving our country or local communities—whether you’ve hunted for years or would like to learn.
Every hunt is free and fully outfitted. This means the land is secured, your gear is 100% provided, and guides and mentors are in place. It’s important to understand that these hunts are not a handout. They are based on respect for what you’ve given.
We know that there’s purpose beyond your battlefield. Apply for a hunt today, or, to help make the next hunt possible, explore how to support and honor our veterans and first responders.
We’re getting veterans & first responders back outdoors.
Real people stand with you for your hunt, including leaders and guides with service and field experience. You will feel confident knowing you have the knowledge, safety training, and equipment needed for a successful hunt—even if you’ve never hunted before.

Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer
Garrett is a Sergeant in the Army National Guard and a Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Deputy, with roots in Lafayette and a lifelong tie to the outdoors that began at age seven.
He believes time in the woods brings focus and stays committed to serving those who serve.
Hi, I’m Garrett Konopa. I grew up in Lafayette, Indiana, and graduated from McCutcheon High School. After high school, I made the decision to enlist in the Army National Guard, where I currently serve as a Sergeant. As a fuel specialist with the Blackhawk unit.
I graduated from Vincennes University with a degree in Conservation Law Enforcement, where I further honed my passion for public service and law enforcement. On the civilian side, I am a dedicated Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Deputy. Serving my community and protecting those in need is not just a job; it's a calling. Both in the military and law enforcement, I've witnessed firsthand the physical and mental challenges that our active-duty and retired law enforcement officers and veterans face. The resilience needed to overcome these struggles is something I deeply understand, and it fuels my passion to help others through their own healing journeys.
Growing up, I was immersed in the outdoors harvesting my first turkey and deer at the age of 7. From then on, spending time in nature became more than just a hobby—it became a form of healing. I truly believe that time spent in the woods can provide a therapeutic space for anyone, whether you're seeking peace, clarity, or simply a break from life's stresses.
I am honored to be part of the Salute Pursuit team and the organizations we work alongside. Our mission is something I deeply believe in, and the work we do with veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders is close to my heart. I’m proud to be part of a team that makes a difference every day, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving both my community and my country.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you.

Zach Benjamin
Founder, Board Treasurer
Zach grew up in Indiana and was drawn to hunting through family tradition, with a grandfather who served as a Marine and a brother who serves as a firefighter. He wants veterans and first responders to share the peace and purpose he finds outdoors.
My name is Zach Benjamin, and I grew up in Romney, Indiana, graduating from McCutcheon High School. As a child, I was drawn to hunting and the outdoors by watching my two cousins and uncle hunt on Thanksgiving morning. Since then, hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors have been central to my life. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I’d rather be sitting in a deer stand than doing just about anything else.
My grandfather, Jim Benjamin, was a United States Marine, and my brother, Caleb Benjamin, is a firefighter in Lafayette. Being part of Salute Pursuit gives me the opportunity to help veterans and first responders share the same love for the outdoors that has shaped my life. The chance to offer them peace in nature and create lasting memories is truly an incredible experience.

I’m Connor Booth, and I joined Salute Pursuit in 2024. I grew up in Pine Village, IN, and started hunting at age 8, harvesting my first deer in 7th grade. My passion for the outdoors has only grown since then.
At 16, I joined the Pine Village Volunteer Fire Department and served as a first responder for 12 years. I also worked as a meat cutter for Beutler Meat Processing and Purdue University before becoming a Deputy Sheriff at the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office, where I’ve served for 8 years.
I’m proud to be part of Salute Pursuit because of the camaraderie and the opportunity to give back to those who have served their country and communities.
Watching hunters experience the outdoors and fill their tags is incredibly rewarding, and sharing that joy with others is a humbling experience.

Salute Pursuit gives me the opportunity to give back to those who have selflessly served and sacrificed, whether in the military or as first responders. It's an honor to support those who have given so much for our country and communities.
Make the next hunt possible for a veteran or first responder.
This only happens because people like you step in with funding, land, gear, or sponsorships.
No fanfare, pity, or shortcuts.
These hunting trips aren’t a handout. They’re a thank you for the years you’ve given in service and protection.
